Making Sense of Visual Data: Presentation Rubric

How we will grade your presentations:

You will receive 1 point for… (Total 5 points)
– Summarizes key takeaway from Paper 1
– Summarizes key takeaways from Paper 2
– Offered own interpretation of Paper 1
– Offered own interpretation of Paper 2
– Provided sufficient background for classmates to understand the content

You will receive 5 points for checking off 3 of the following:
– Connected the paper to materials we discussed in class?
– Connected the paper to your own research projects/research interests?
– Presented a real-world problem the papers may be related to or be used to resolve?
– Connected Psychology paper to a related application or research direction in computer science/data vis?
– Connected data vis paper to a related basic question from psychology or potential next steps from a psychology perspective?

Some additional categories where you can receive points (Total 5 points)
The presentation is 15 minutes (1 point for good use of time)
The presentation is engaging, well thought of and designed (1 point)
The slides are carefully made, items are aligned, with no typos and no walls of text (1 point)
Your peer feedback (based on a combination of your group members’ feedback on your effort and your classmates’ feedback on your presentation – 2 points)
